Iron Orchid Designs - Summer Release 2022

Get Creative with Iron Orchid Designs Summer Release 2022 Products.

As a UK stockist of Iron Orchid Designs, I am one of the lucky ones who gets to see a preview of all of the beautiful new products pre-launch. I'm sure I'm not the only stockist who has their phone permanently on waiting excitedly for the IOD founders, sisters Josie and Sally, to share their new creations. It's very difficult not to squeal with delight - especially when I have a shop full of unsuspecting customers - when each new item is revealed. I can then order directly from America and, after they have arrived, I keep my new acquisitions secret until launch day. At least I can keep looking at them stored safely away in my studio until they are let loose.

This latest release has been outstanding to say the least. We have been treated to Iron Orchid Designs Transfers, Moulds, Paint Inlays and Stamps. The designs, the colours and the sheer amount of thought and hard work that has gone into every item is astonishing. I can honestly say that there isn't one thing that I don't like. The sisters are just so innovative and their enthusiasm for their products is infectious.

Let me take you through the Summer Release 2022.

Iron Orchid Designs Transfers

Cosette:

Ooo la la! This transfer is absolutely beautiful; it's delicate and detailed. There are eight sheets that fit together to make up the full design. The transfers are really easy to use and one of our American stockists has used Cosette on a mirror - it looks amazing. As with all of the IOD designs, if the transfer is a little too large for your project, you can easily cut it to fit.

Cotswolds:

As a UK stockist of IOD, I was delighted when I saw this! Not only are they based on traditional English signage, there are two transfers to use on two separate projects. Each transfer is made up of four sheets. I can imagine them being used on old chippy wooden doors - that would look great. I have a friend with Gloucester Old Spot Pigs; she'd love this transfer!

Whispering Willow:

This gorgeous transfer was designed for Iron Orchid Designs by a very talented American Stockist, Lexi Grenzer. It is jam-packed full of the cutest flora and fauna images on eight sheets which can be used separately or arranged together. It's absolutely perfect for children and can be used on their furniture or to make cute hanging pictures.

Iron Orchid Designs Moulds

Horse and Hound:

It was the horse that attracted me to this mould - such beautiful details. Being a horse owner I can imagine me using this a lot! The moulds are made from food grade silicone, are easily washed in warm soapy water and are incredibly detailed. I like to use IOD Air Dry Clay and Amazing Casting Resin for my castings. The clay often cracks and shrinks when it's drying but that just adds to the vintage look of the piece you're adding the castings to. For perfect castings use resin - it's very easy to use and it pops out of the moulds really easily producing a perfect reproduction.

Olive Crest:

I used this mould as soon as it arrived! There are so many interesting parts to it that can be used together or separately. There are lots of lovely curves and scrolls and, as you'd expect, exquisite detailing.

Village Market:

If you like animals you'll love this mould! There is such character in the faces of the cow, sheep and pig. It could be used on kitchen projects - cutting board signs, picture and mirror frames, decorative plaques and much more!

Iron Orchid Designs Paint Inlays

Chateau:

This Paint Inlay has to be one of the most beautiful so far. I don't know about you, but it gives me Medieval vibes. It's one of those images that really does transport you back to an old French castle. There are eight sheets of inlay that fit together to produce the main image. If you haven't used the IOD Paint Inlays yet, they are an amazing product. Each sheet is impregnated with paint which, when placed onto a wet, painted surface, transfers onto your project. They are a new and exclusive IOD product.

 La Chasse:

Another French inspired Paint Inlay with five designs - four designs are one page each whereas the large design is made up of four sheets. Any, or all, of these designs would look fabulous on a white or light coloured surface to make them really 'pop'. For a more subtle effect, apply to a darker surface.

Petits Parasols:

This is IOD's newest toile Paint Inlay. Lots of lovely detail in this one in a beautiful soft black. There are eight sheets which fit together for a larger project or can be cut to fit smaller ones. Don't forget that IOD Paint Inlays can be used more than once! With each use the look becomes more vintage and shabby - gorgeous!

Iron Orchid Designs Stamps

Bella:

Ahhh beautiful Bella. You can use this stamp to produce a Damask wallpaper effect on your projects - even straight onto your walls! Aside from the main image there are little flourishes that can be used individually too. Stamping is so easy and is great fun. I have a huge stack of brown paper bags for the shop just waiting for me to choose which stamp to use! They can be used with IOD Inks and with paint depending on the effect you're looking for.

Catwalk:

Jungle prints have been really popular in recent years and this new addition from IOD will compliment them beautifully. Printing onto fabric is certainly something that you can do with the IOD stamps and the ink works very well on natural pre-washed materials.

Serpentine:

Another jungle-inspired IOD stamp - snakeskin this time. I remember, when I was a little girl, my mum had a fake snakeskin handbag and I was fascinated by the texture and the patterns. I can imagine this stamp would look amazing as a fake leather look on an old writing desk!

I hope that you've enjoyed this walk through of everything new at IOD. You can see the products on my website via the links - anything not there will be on the website very soon!

If you haven't been into my little shop - where have you been?!! I'm based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire - that's half an hour or less away from Ripon, Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Knaresborough, York, Easingwold, Boroughbridge, Bedale, Darlington, Richmond...why not pop in and have a peruse? Hope to see you soon!

Composed with love and humour,

YSP
